Florid osseous dysplasia(FOD) is a benign fibro-osseous lesion that characteristically affects the jaws of middle-aged black women and it is very rare disease in orientals including Korean. It usually manifests as multiple radiopaque cementum-like masses distributed throughout the jaws on routine dental radiogram. The radiographic spectrum is similar that of other benign fibro-osseous lesions, beginning as a radiolucent lesion and becoming more radiopaque as the involved bone becomes more sclerotic. Most cases of FOD are asymptomatic and they are found during routine radiographic examination. If the symptom does not exist, no treatment is required and routine follow-up may be necessary. But the dense bone of FOD is very susceptible to infection, particulary with advancing years in response to trauma or chronic dental infection. As previously documented. FOD has a distinct predilection for black women and it s very rare disease in orientals including Korean. So we reported three cases of Korean patients as diagnosed FOD We present those diseases by their age, site, radiographic finding, pathological exam, and further treatment plan with journal review.
