The malignant schwannoma is the principal malignancy of peripheral nerve. Because malignant schwannoma bear a close microscopic resemblance to mesenchymal sarcoma, a definitive diagnosis often is difficult to establish. If we restrict the histologic diagnositic criteria of malignant schwannoma to tumors that clearly arise from Schwann cell, that is 5 to 10 per cent of all sarcomas. Malignant schwannoma has microscopically spindle cell, epitheloid, rhabdomyo differentiation and grandular pattern. Malignant schwannoma is highly malignant lesion with frequent recurrences following local excision in from 50 to 80 per cent of patients, and Head and neck malignant schwannoma shows more poor prognosis than extremity tumor. Our department has experienced 3 cases of malignant schwannoma during recent 10 years, performed surgical intervention in all cases. 2 of 3 cases of malignant schwannoma were occurred in mandible showing histologically spindle cell pattern, the orther case was occurred in maxilla and epitheloid pattern, We present you its clinical findings. Treatment results and prognosis.
