인문학의 실천적 영역을 위한 글로벌 지역학

Global Regional Studies for the Practical Use of the Humanities - Focusing on the Humanistic Approach to the Case where Canon Overcame the Crisis -

本研究は人文学の危機、そしてその危機状況を乗り越えるために実践領域として提示されたグローバル地域学の先決課題を考察したもので、グローバル経済危機とそれを克服していくローカル企業の事例を中心に、企業主体が危機状況を克服するために試みた思考転換のプロセスを通じて接近した結果が導き出されている。具体的にはキヤノンの事例を分析した。自分たちが最も得意にしてきたし、最も得意にできるものを中核技術で育てて、それを元に勝負したキャノンは結局自分たちの核心力量を維持しながら彼らだけの革新を成し遂げることができた。それに、研究者はグローバルとローカルの混在を適切に融合したキャノンの方法を通じて、グローバル地域学の中核技術はグローバル地域学の人材を養成するシステムの構築であることを提示した。地域を舞台にして活動するための実践的方法を学問的に定義して概念を作るのではなく、人文学的な力量を実践する人材を作り出さなければならないことだ。それが人文学の実践領域であるグローバル地域学が進むべき目標であり、そういう人材の養成とそういう人材に対して社会的な需要を引き出す具体的なシステムをどのように構築するかが今後の課題であろう。

In order to examine the pre-existing problems of global regional studies, the present article tries to approach this issue through the entrepreneurs thinking process, focusing on the local companies which have attempted to overcome their critical economic situations. In this paper, Canon Inc. is analyzed in detail. Canon Inc., which has developed its fields of expertise, has been able to achieve their own innovation while maintaining their core competencies. Through Canon’s method of properly combining the global with the local, the core competence of global regional studies has proven to build a system which cultivates human resources for global regional studies. The practical way to act on the stage of the region is not to define and create academic concepts but to create human resources suited to perform humanistic capacity. This should be the goal of global regional studies, a practical area of the humanities. Furthermore, it is left for future work to train human resources and to construct the system which can create the justification for the social demand of human resources.
