Recently, school facilites are being mixed use as a center of local community with high potential. It operates as a supporting facility for new urban fuctions. It means the functions of school facilities are changing, for not only education but also for local community, and the demand of center for urban regeneration is increasing. However, mixed-use of school facilities are not connected to the existing urban facilities because the establishment and management of school facilities are separately by the central government and its local governments. The aim of this research is to examine the present condition and possibility of school facilities as the local community facilites. There are five basic frameworks to use school facilites which are abstracted from analyzing examples. School should be used as a center of public facilities, not only for education, but also as a center of community facilities that deal with low birth rates and aging population.
