최근 5년간 안면골 골절 환자에 대한 임상적 연구

A clinical study of facial bone fractures for the last 5 years

This is a clinical & retrospective study on 383 patients with maxillofacial bone fracture, treated as in-patients, at Kyung Hee Medical Center, Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, during the period of Jan. 1985, through Dec. 1990. The results were as follows 1. The ratio of men to women was 4.9:1 2. The facial bone fractures occurred most frequently in the third decade(40.5%), and fourth, second, fifth decade in orders 3. The major etiologic factors were falling down(34.9%), direct blow (34.2%), and traffic accident(25.3%). The falling down has been greatly increased in this years. 4. The most common location of facial bone fracture was the mandible(83.7%) ; and zygoma complex(8.8%), maxilla (5.7%), and nasal bone(1.7%) were next in order of frequency. 5. The frequent fracture site of mandible is symphysis(41%) & angle region(30%), simple type was 49.8%, complex type 50.2%, of which the most common pattern was symphysis with angle fractures.
