Myxoma is a benign tumor affecting jaw exclusively, which is thought to be originated by the inductive effect of odontogenic epithelium or by the direct myxomatous change in fibrous tissue. This is to report 2 cases of myxoma in view of 2 categories by their origin. One is an odontogenic myxoma occurred in the maxilla of 13-yr-old boy, while the other is an osteogenic (true) myxoma occurred in the mandible of 25-yr-old female. The finding and results were as follows; 1. The odontogenic myxoma was found around the crown of impacted maxillary canine. It was treated by local curettage and surgical repositioning of maxillary canine. 2. The osteogenic myxoma involved the mandibular body and angle causing intraoral & facial swelling. It was treated by partial resection of the involved mandible, and immediate reconstruction with autogenous iliac bone graft was done. 3. Succeeding eruption of maxillary canine and normal repair of grafted mandible were observed for 2 years after surgery. There was no evidence of recurrence.
