상악골 악성종양의 외과적 절제후 즉시재건술을 이용한 치험례

IMMEDIATE RECONSTRUCTION AFTER TOTAL MAXILLECTOMY FOR MAXILLARY CANCER

Maxillectomy for the treatment of maxillary cancer is radical surgical procedure and so it has many complications physiologically and psychologically following procedure. Various methods of immediate reconstruction for such a maxillary defect was presented until now. We treated the 48 year old male patient with squamous cell carcinoma on maxillary sinus by means of total maxillectomy and immediate reconstruction using the split rib graft on the resected anterior floor of orbit and anterior wall of maxilla. We have obtained good functional and esthetic results by preventing cicartrical contracture of soft tissue and ptosis of eyeball contents.
