악안면부에 발생한 혈관종에 관한 임상적 연구

A CLINICAL STUDY ON HEMANGIOMA OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL REGION

This is a retrospective study on hemangioma of jaw bone and soft tissue. This study is based on pathologic report and clinical chart of 56 patients treated as inpatient and outpatient at Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Susery, College of Dentistry, Seoul National University during the period of last 10 years. The results obtained are as follows. 1. Age distribution of patient ranged from birth to 65 years. The frequency was high in first decade (32%) and in second decade (30%). 2. The ratio of men to women was 45:55. 3. The most common location of hemangioma was tongue (32%) and gingiva (18%) buccal mucosa (16%) were next in decreasing order. 4. The mean duration from patient s first recognition of lesion to visiting doctor was 3.7 years. Painless swelling was the most common chief complaint of patient (59%). 5. The most frequent misdiagnosis of hemangioma was pyogenic granuloma (34%). 6. On microscopic review, cavernous hemangioma was 48%, and capillary hemangioma was 25%.
