학습자 중심의 문화 간 의사소통 능력 향상 방안에 관한 연구

세계의 다양한 나라에서 한국문화에 대한 호기심, 여행, 언어 등 다양한 목적으로 한국에 체류하는 외국인들이 증가하고 있다. 이들은 언어적인 특징과 문화적 차이로 인한 갈등과 어려움을 항상 대면하기 마련이며 이런 갈등이 어떤 부분에서 발생이 되는지, 또 어떻게 해소될 수 있는지 그 방안을 찾고자 하는 것이 본 연구의 출발점이다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 문화적 배경을 가진 학습자들에게 문화 간 의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 방안으로 프로젝트를 제안한다. 그룹을 지어 프로젝트를 수행하는 과정에서 고착화된 문화적 갈등이 드러나게 되며 그룹 안에서 어떻게 변화되고 해소되어지는지 살펴볼 수 있다. 총10주간 50명의 학생은 10그룹으로 나뉘어 사전 설문조사, 영상 감상, 토론, 팀 프로젝트와 영상 제작 및 발표 그리고 사후 설문조사의 과정을 통해 문화 간 의사소통 능력의 향상의 과정들을 보여주었다. 기존의 연구에서 교재, 교사 중심의 문화 간 의사소통 능력 향상에 대한 연구들을 살펴볼 수 있었다면 본 연구를 통해 학습자 중심의 연구 출발과 설계, 과정에 대한 연구는 의미가 있다고 본다. 앞으로도 세계 시민의 자질과 역량을 갖춘 학습자들의 문화 간 의사소통 능력의 향상을 위해 학습자 중심의 연구가 활발히 이루어지기를 바란다.

The students who have interests about Korea have constantly been increasing. People from different countries have their own culture and linguistic characteristic and these differences might be able to cause many communicative problems. The Korean education field for foreign students has been studied with focus on linguistic and cultural differences but there is no variety and clear result on intercultural Korean teaching and learning focus on learners. The purpose of this study is to suggest the method of project for improving intercultural communicative abilities with focus on learners. Chapter I examines the notion of intercultural communicative competence and studies in Korean Education. Chapter II reveals the processes of improving intercultural communicative ability and proposes the method of project. Finally, this study is considered meaningful in that it studied Korean intercultural communicative method using project and specially focus on learners, which has rarely been studied in Korean cultural education, and suggested a new direction through this.
