The author has studied the wound healing processes after luxations of rabbit s lower anterior teeth. This study is very significant in oral surgery and general practical dentistry. The materials were 24 white male rabbits aging 6 months after birth with weighing about 2.0kg. The rabbits were sacrificed on 1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 21st, and 28th day after luxations and microscopic slides were made. The results are as follows. : 1. During the period of 1st-5th day after luxations, the formation of blood clots and inflammatory cell infiltrations were showing in the space of periodontal membranes, and a lots of the fibers of periodontal membranes were torn and revealed edematous spaces. It began to start the regressive processes such as the vacuolization and hyperemia in their pulp tissues. 2. During the period of 7th-14th day after luxations, there were vigorously occurred formations of granulation tissues and connective tissues in the injured spaces of periodontal membranes. The pulp tissues yet remained the regressive process changes such as the vacuolization and the fibrosis in the pulp tissues. 3. During the period of 21st-28th day after luxations, the tissues of the injured periodontal membranes were completely replaced to the connective tissues with collagen and the pulp regenerations were followed normally. 4. Inflammatory reactions after luxations were severe in the early stage, but the luxated teeth were firmly fixed after 4 weeks and completely healed clinically.
