경기도의 영어 교육 현장 연구 분석

The analysis of action research papers on English education in Kyonggi Province

본 연구는 경기도 영어 교과 현장교육 연구의 특성과 문제점을 진단하고 개선 방안을 제안하기 위해 이루어졌다. 2001년부터 2003년까지 경기도 현장 연구 대회 외국어 분과에 제출된 영어 교과 현장 교육 연구논문들을 대상으로 하였으며 몇 가지 모형에 따라 주제의 유형을 분류하고 특징을 추출하였다. 그 결과 초등 영어 현장 교육 논문의 감소추세와 현장 연구 주제의 편중 현상이 문제점으로 드러났다. 문제의 원인을 분석하고 해결책을 제시하기 위해 현장 연구 경험이 있는 다양한 경력의 초등 교사 다섯 명과 인터뷰를 하였고 문제의 원인이 초등 교사의 전문성 부족에 있음을 통찰하였으며 전문성 고양을 위해 공적인 지원, 협동 연구의 도입, 심사 기준의 개선 등을 제안하였다.

This study attempts to understand the characteristics and problems of action research papers presented for the Kyonggi Province action research contest, and further to make some suggestions to solve the revealed problems. For the purposes, 267 action research papers submitted to the foreign language education section of the contest from 2001 to 2003 were classified and analyzed in terms of their topics. The result shows that the number of papers on primary English education is decreasing every year and that almost all the research topics are concerned with teaching-learning activities in the classroom. Interviews with five primary school teachers, who have performed action research on English education, revealed that the lack of teachers professionalism is responsible both for the decrease of research papers and for the biased distribution of research topics. This study suggests national or public support for teachers research, stimuli for collaborative research, and the improvement of the contest examination standards.
