This paper is on the dialects which are collected at Nonhyon-dong and Kojon-dong called Shorae , which is in the south-east district of In-chon. Though Shorae Is outside the downtown of Inchon and is a region where lots of natives have still lived generation after generation, few dialects have been existant. For Inchon is close to Seoul the speech of which is the just Korean standard speech. In addition, this region has a lot of new comers from other regions. The dialects are recorded which are contrasted to the Korean standard speech when we talk to the natives. The dialects are arranged to be divided into two parts : one rele-vant to the vocabulary and the other to the grammar. The former is subdivided into native, Chinese and mixed words with the both based on their composition and classified according to their parts of speech. The latter is classified on the basis of their particles and conjugations. This paper shows some special features represented in the dialectal data and provides some important references. Some features to write down are as following : They say koygi , nudeygi and mayt kida instead of kogi , nudegi and mat kida , respectively, in an influence of palatalization. Another feature shown up in this region is that they say ku , tu , ru instead of ko , to , re appearing as a particle or a conjugation, respectively. The above features are shared in the whole Kyonggido, which has been mentioned before. They say kojaei , kyodurei , pangmaei instead of kojaengi , kyodurangi , and pangmangi , respectively. As shown in these examples, the consonant ng following vowels is deleted. They also say hoda instead of hada , which is a light predicate. These both phenomena are not restricted to this region, Shorae. Besides, they say tol instead of tul , a plural suffix, shown as below : paeun saram-tol, soraksan-tol, mollayo-tol, kinyang-tol noljiyo, chisa-tol chinaego, chipanggiri-tol maenduloso, etc. Note that the plural suffix tul , which is thought to belong to a kind of particles, is reserved for the further research.
