Proverbs reflect the language and culture in a society. Thus, they can be effective materials for second language classes where both language and culture should be equally taught. However, if a proverb in a target language has a different connotation from the native language, it is difficult for the learners to study the correct meaning that proverbs convey without any guidance. In this regard, this paper tried to find out the similar or contrastive connotations between Persian and Korean proverbs by analyzing 28 proverbs in total, so that the Korean learners of Persian can learn the Persian language and culture more effectively.
