A Study on Dynamic Equivalence and Readability of Korean-English literary Translation : Focusing on Diary of a Vagabond

If Korean literary text‘s culture-specific factors were translated literally, the most of target readers may not figure out the meaning. In that case, a translator should utilize the proper translation strategies for cutting down differences in meaning. So translators apply readability to literary text translation to make natural translation. The purpose of this paper is to look into the translation work of on Diary of a Vagabond and find out how readability is fulfilled in it. This paper examine and analyze what strategies are used to solve the five difficult translational factors to make understand readers. Two standpoints of faithfulness & readability have been elements in deciding whether it is a good translation or a bad translation. It is improper that he or she should be the only one. Especially translator should be both faithful and readable in the literature translation.
