1980년대 임수생의 리얼리즘 시와 검열 의식

본 논문은 1980년대 임수생 시의 계열을 세 가지로 나누고 그 경향을 살핌으로써 임수생 시의 리얼리즘 시편이 지닌 80년대적 의미를 고찰한다. 아울러 임수생 시가 일관된 경향을 보이는 심리적ㆍ경험적 이유에 대해서도 가설적 성격의 고찰을 시도한다. 임수생 시인의 1980년대 시편을 살핀 결과, 그의 작품은 검열에 대한 의식과 불가분의 관계를 지닌다. 그의 상당수의 작품이 검열을 의식하면서 작품 게재 여부를 판별한 정황적 근거가 확인된다. 1980년대 초ㆍ중기의 작품들이 리얼리즘 성향을 지니면서도 소박한 당위적 진실을 재현하는 데 머물거나 알레고리를 비롯한 우회적 전략을 채택하고 있는 것은 검열과 관련된다. 마찬가지로 1980년대 중반 이후, 정부의 검열이 다소 약화되면서 그의 작품들은 저항적이고 혁명적인 정치 성향을 더 강력한 구호적 메시지와 함께 분출해낸다. 검열의 시대였던 1980년대, 임수생 시인은 검열 의식과의 길항 가운데서 작품을 창작하고 발표 여부를 고민하였으며, 시인으로서의 사명감을 다지기 위해 노력하였던 것이다. 이러한 사실은 1980년대를 통과한 한 리얼리스트 시인의 시창작방법론과 검열과의 관계를 되짚게 한다. 부산 지역 문단에서조차 거의 다루어지지 않았던 임수생 시의 한 면목이 여기서 발견될 수 있다.

This paper divided the poetry of ‘Lim, Su-seng’ in the 1980’s into three series. And this paper examined the tendency of poetry. In addition, this paper tried to hypothesize on the psychological and empirical reasons why the poetry of ‘Lim, Su-seng’ showed a consistent tendency. ‘Lim, Su-seng s’ poetry in the 1980s has an inseparable relation with consciousness of censorship. Many of his works were conscious of censorship. Whether the publication of the work is related to the censorship consciousness. The works of realism in the early and mid-1980s are reminiscent of simple and ‘ought to-truth’. It also adopts a bypass strategy such as allegory. This is related to censorship. Likewise, since the mid-1980s, the censorship of the government has weakened somewhat, and his works evolve resistance and revolutionary political tendencies with stronger relief messages. In the 1980’s, during the era of ‘censorship’, poet ‘Lim, Su-seng’ tried to create a work while antagonizing the censorship ceremony, worried about the presentation, and tried to improve his sense of duty as a poet.
