The purpose of the present study is to help raise awareness of translation teachers and translation students alike about how elements of objective writing can be of help to producing objective translations. Being sensitive to skills and knowledge for writing objectively is important not just to monolingual writers but to translators. The present study classified textual elements that can have an influence on the objectivity of English-into-Korean translations into three categories: auxiliary verbs, semantic particles, and other bias-driven lexical choices. In order to ascertain which textual elements are prone to translator’s bias, the present study examined texts of various types and their translated versions produced by relatively inexperienced translation students.
