부정적 평가에 대한 두려움이 대학생의 학업지연행동에 미치는 영향

The Effects on Academic Procrastination of College Student from the Fear of Negative Evaluation : Verification on the Mediating Effects of Irrational Belief

본 연구는 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움, 비합리적 신념, 학업지연행동의 관계를 알아보고 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움이 학업지연행동에 미치는 영향에서 비합리적 신념의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 서울, 경기, 충청, 전라, 경상 지역 소재의 4년제 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 390명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움, 비합리적 신념, 학업지연행동의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과, 모든 변인들 간의 유의미한 정적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 대학생의 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움이 학업지연행동에 미치는 영향에서 비합리적 신념의 매개모형을 검증한 결과, 비합리적 신념은 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움과 학업지연행동의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 학업과 관련한 지연행동으로 인해 불편감을 호소하는 대학생들을 도울 때, 그들이 가진 신념과 정서를 다루는 것이 유용할 수 있음을 시사한다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점, 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 기술하였다.

This thesis aimed to investigate the relationships between the fear of negative evaluation, irrational faith, and academic procrastination. It also aimed to verify the mediating effect of irrational faith on the relationship between academic procrastination and fear of negative evaluation. Data was collected from 390 students at four-year colleges in Seoul, Gyeon-gi, Choungcheong, Jeon-la, and Gyeonsang. The results of the study were as follows. Firstly, there were found to be meaningful and positive relationships among all three factors after examining the fear of negative evaluation, irrational faith, and academic procrastination. Secondly, for the verification result of the mediated model of irrational faith on the relationship between academic procrastination and the fear of negative evaluation of college students; irrational faith manifested a partial medium. In other words, the fear of negative evaluation directly affects academic procrastination, but it was also verified that irrational faith influences the relationship between these two factors indirectly. Lastly, this study outlines a proposition about significance, limitation, and potential for a follow-up study.
