국어 학습자 문어 능력 발달 말뭉치 구축을 위한 서설

The necessity and significance of constructing a corpus containing students’ literacy development

언어 능력 발달 말뭉치는 ‘언어 능력의 발달 정도를 파악할 수 있도록 구축된 구조적 말뭉치’를 가리키는 것으로, 구어 능력 발달 말뭉치와 문어 능력 발달 말뭉치로 나눌 수 있다. 현재 모어 학습자들의 문어 능력 발달 양상을 확인할 수 있는 국어 학습자 문어 능력 발달 말뭉치는 구축되어 있지 못하다. 그런데 국어 교육적 측면을 고려할 때 ‘국어 능력’의 ‘발달’을 확인할 수 있는 ‘학습자’ 말뭉치의 구축은 매우 필요하다. 학습자 국어 능력 발달 말뭉치 중 특히 문어 능력 발달 말뭉치는 학습의 과정과 결과 점검에 유의하다는 점에서 중요하다. 문어 능력 발달 말뭉치 구축 시 이용 가능한 유용한 자료는 학습자의 글쓰기 결과물이다. 이것은 글쓰기 ‘과정’을 보여주지 못한다는 점에서 한계를 갖지만 학습자의 글쓰기 능력을 확인 할 수 있는 가장 대표적인 자료이기도 하다. 본고는 국어 학습자를 위한 문어 능력 발달 말뭉치 구축의 필요성과 방법을 논하고, 그 의의를 국어교육 연구 측면, 국어 교육 정책 측면, 국어 교육 실행 측면으로 나누어 기술하였다.

Language ability development corpus refers to structured corpus constructed to understand the developmental level of language ability and can be divided into spoken language development corpus and literary ability development corpus. At present, there is no established corpus of Korean language learners’ ability to recognize the developmental characteristics of mother tongue abilities. However, it is very necessary to construct a learners’ corpus that can confirm ‘development’ of ‘Korean language ability’ when considering the Korean language education aspect. The corpus containing learners’ literacy is especially important in the point of observing learning process and results. The useful data that can be used in constructing literacy development corpus is the learner’s writing result. This is the most representative data that can confirm the learner’s writing ability although it has limit in that it does not show the writing ‘process’.
