‘국어수업 중 10분 독서’ 활동이 중학생의 독서태도에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 주 목적은 ‘국어수업 중 10분 독서’ 활동이 중학교 1학년 학생들의 독서태도에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 ‘국어수업 중 10분 독서’ 활동을 프로그램 준비 단계, 적용 단계, 확인 단계로 구분하여 적용하였으며, 이를 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘국어수업 중 10분 독서’ 활동은 중학생들의 독서태도에 영향을 미치는 것 으로 나타났다. 둘째, ‘국어수업 중 10분 독서’ 활동을 통해 형성된 독서 태도는 본 프로그램이 단기간이 아니라 장기간 지속적으로 운영될 때 일관성을 지닐 수 있음이 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 독서태도 형성 요인 가운데 가정 문식성, 학교 문식성, 타인의 기대에 대한 신념 등에서는 유의미한 변화가 없었지만 사회 문식성에서는 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 즉, ‘국어수업중 10분 독서’ 활동이 독서태도 형성 요인들 중 사회 문식성에는 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있다는 것이다.

This study has the purpose of suggesting ‘10-minutes reading activities during Korean language class’ as a way to encourage reading attitude, one of the important purposes of reading education, and of presenting a concrete method to sustain the reading attitude by examining the effect on the reading attitude of the 1st year students in middle school. The conclusion from this study can be drawn as follows. First, the continuous ‘daily 10-minutes reading activities during class’ of Korean language class became a base of right reading attitude, and the reading attitude of the students who kept reading were improved more positively than those who stopped it midway. Second, considering the fact that it needs long-term efforts to form desirable reading attitude because the reading attitude is formed not in a short time or by temporary activities, but over a longer period, and if a variable having influenced on the reading attitude is removed, the reading attitude won’t last any more, the circumstances that can keep 10-minutes reading activities during Korean language class steadily should be prepared to hold the reading attitude once formed consistently, and if it is introduced in the curriculum of school, the scene of the school will be changed. Third, the 1st year students in middle school who are much influenced by peer group feel more interest in the books recommended by friends than those recommended by teachers, and their positive attitude for reading are formed in the course of having talks of books with friends. Reading in adolescence is very important because it may change a person’s life, so it needs to make the period of 10-minutes reading activities during class longer, and there needs to give much interest and make responses to have mutual relationship even though their grades go up. And, it needs to develop ‘10-minutes reading activities during class’ in the direction of contributing to formation of readings for lifelong reading.
