A Study of Broadcasting Interpretation

Broadcasting interpretation has been considered until now as a branch of conference interpretation. However, everybody can easily recognize the fact that broadcasting interpretation is by no means an easy task and there are differences between broadcasting interpretation and conference interpretation. In broadcasting interpretation, the interpreter is required to have different qualities from conference interpretation. Therefore, it can be said that broadcasting interpretation should be regarded as an independent form of interpretation, and interpreters involved in broadcasting interpretation must get additional and separate training and qualifications. From such a perspective, this paper has briefly observed the current status of broadcasting interpretation and broadcast reports, which has confirmed a need for more research. Future research should focus more on the differences between conference interpretation and broadcasting interpretation in order to carry out a more concrete study.
