This study focuses on topic-comment structures dealt with in translation from Korean into English. It attempts to determine how Korean translators handle six categories of Korean topic-comment structures: single topic, genitive, adverbial, cleft, moved argument, and embedded categories. The major findings of the study are : (1) The quality of translation was proportional to the translator s level of expertise and experience. (2) More contractions and paratactic sentences were used in translation than in simultaneous interpretation.
