The Impact of Socio-Economic Factors on CO2 Emissions in Farm Household Consumption Expenditure

This study examine group(individual-specific) effect, time effect or both using farm household economy survey data. Especially, we focus on the socio-economic factors which can affect CO2 emission due to rural household consumption expenditures. There is a significant differences about both consumption pattern and emission pattern among equivalent expenditure decile levels. The first equivalent expenditure decile group consume food and non-alcoholic beverage, medical care and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels more than others. In contrast, The last group of those levels consume education, recreation and culture, communication and clothing and footwear rather than lower level groups. Induced CO2 emission pattern due to consumption expenditure looks like a consumption’s figure and housing et al. and transport are the largest emission sources. Then, we construct one-way fixed and random effect model, two-way fixed and random effect model and one-way time fixed and random effect model. Some kind of results show that two-way fixed effect model is the best consistent and effective model. There are five significant variables which are farm household income, agricultural income(negative), number of household members, education(negative) and age(negative).
