개성공단에서의 비즈니스 위험 완화 전략에 관한 연구

개성공단 기업은 남북한의 정치적 리스크에도 불구하고 최근 주목할 만한 성장을 보여주고 있다. 개성공단입주 기업의 공급사슬내에서 효과적인 리스크 관리는 글로벌 환경에서 핵심역량으로 고려되고 있다. 본 연구는 개성공단 입주 기업중에서 가장 대표적인 의류기업에 대한 공급사슬 위험관리에 대한 사례연구를 하였다. 개성공단 기업이 비즈니스위험을 극복하기 위하여 공급사슬 위험을 우선적으로 식별하고 인지하는데 초점을 두고있다. 또한 본 연구는 공급사슬위험관리(SCRM)내에서 전략적으로 계획을 수립하는 것이 수행되고 평가되었다. 이 연구의 결과는 공급사슬 위험완화 전략을 제공하기 위해 분석되고 수행되었다.

Business firms in Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC) have faced extreme pressures to survive in a global business environment (Kim and Lim, 2009; Lee, 2008). A global supply chain management is exposed to a various risks such as demand fluctuations, exchange-rate fluctuations, price fluctuation, supply disruption, and supply delays. If proper mitigation strategies are not taken in place, these risks can seriously affect supply chain performance. Thus, business firms must explore successful mitigation strategies that are the growing requirements for effective risk management in supply chain management (SCM) (Sarangi and Srivatsan, 2009). SCRM takes a proactive stance in the development of appropriate mitigation strategy of supply chain risk. It also provides proper remedies overcoming the challenges of the information and knowledge age(Craighead et al., 2007; Ji, 2009; Lim and Lim, 2006; Shin, 2002; Kim, 2008; Chopra and Sodhi, 2004). However, systematic risk mitigation strategies for developing a secured supply chain risk management in KIC have never been addressed in terms of directions for SCRM planning, frameworks for future supply chain infrastructure development, and actions for the risk mitigations (Christopher and Lee, 2004). The numerous factors make decision-making process in the strategic planning difficult to plan and implement. Many tangible and intangible risks involve in the decision-making process of a supply chain environment (Dani and Deep, 2010; Kumar and Schmitz, 2011). The purpose of this paper is 1) to identify, assess, and prioritize supply chain risks using analytic hierarchy process approach which aids in supporting the SCM decision-making pertinent to strategic planning, and 2) to provide business decision-makers with proper risk mitigation strategy. Therefore, this study is focused on exploring supply chain risks’ characteristics in order to implement a proper risk mitigation strategy in KIC.
