학부모 학교참여가 자녀의 학업성취도에 미치는 영향에 대한 종단 연구

A Longitudinal Study of the Impact of Parental Involvement in School on Child’s Academic Achievement

본 연구에서는 다변량 잠재성장모형을 이용하여 학부모 학교참여가 자녀의 학업 성취도에 미치는 종단적인 영향을 분석하였다. 분석에 사용한 데이터는 경기교육종 단연구 1~4차년도 데이터로, 2012년 당시 초등학교 4학년에 재학 중인 학생과 그 어머니를 대상으로 하였다. 분석결과, 2012년의 학부모 학교참여 수준이 높을수록 자녀의 학업성취도 변화율도 높았다. 그리고 학부모 학교참여 수준의 변화율은 자녀의 학업성취도 변화율에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 학부모 학교참여에 대한 동기 부여 및 학부모 학교참여 정책에 대한 경험적인 증거가 될 수있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of parental involvement in school on child’s academic achievement using the multi-variate latent growth model. The data used in the analysis is from the 1st to 4th waves of Gyeonggi Education Panel Study (GEPS). The children and their mothers who were in the 4th grade of elementary school at 2012 were targeted. The result of the analysis reveals that the higher the level of parental involvement in school, the higher the rate of change of the child’s academic achievement. The rate of change in parental involvement in school has a statistically significant impact on the rate of change in the child’s academic achievement.
