浅析思维导图在韩国语词汇教学中的应用(The application of mind map to Korean vocabulary teaching.)

마인드맵을 활용한 한국어 어휘 교수법

20세기 60년대 영국 학자인 토니 부잔(Tony Buzan)에 의해 구안된 마인드맵은 조직적인 사고 도구로서 두뇌에 저장된 사고를 재생하듯 표현하는 것이다. 마인드맵의 핵심적인 특징은 바로 추상적 사고와 구상적 사고를 결합시키고 사람의 좌뇌와 우뇌를 동시에 작동시켜 자기의 사고를 그림으로 보여 주는 데 있다. 그 동안 중국이나 한국에서의 마인드맵은 영어 어휘, 문법, 읽기, 쓰기 등의 교육에 널리 활용되어 왔고 이에 대한 풍부한 연구 성과가 축적되어 있 지만, 영어 이외의 다른 언어, 특히 한국어 교육 분야에서는 아직까지 그리 중요시되지 못하고 있고, 관련된 연구 성과도 그리 많지 않은 실정이다. 이런 점을 감안하여 이 논문에서는 우선 마인드맵에 관련된 원리 분석과 이론적인 배경을 파악함으로써 이를 한국어 교육, 특히 한국어 어휘 교육에 적용할 수 있 는 과학성을 입증해 내고, 이를 기초로 하여 한국어 어휘의 특징을 반영한 마인드맵을 활용한 몇 가지 어휘 교수법을 구안하여 어휘 교육에의 적용 방법을 논의할 것이다. 마지막으로 교수와 학습자 두 측면으로 나누어 이 방법이 어휘 학습 효과를 향상시키고 어휘의 기억력을 강화시키며 학습 방식을 전환하는 데 미치는 역할에 대하여 논의할 것이다.

Mind map is a tool for organizing divergent thinking, which helps people visualize thoughts in an organized diagram by combining abstract thinking and imagery thinking and simultaneously activating one’s left and right brains. In China and South Korea, mind mapping is widely used in the teaching of English vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing, but still largely overlooked in the education and research of other languages, especially the Korean language. This study reviews the theoretical background and framework of mind mapping and argues for applicability in the teaching of Korean, in particular Korean vocabulary. The paper then goes on to propose several methods of applying mind mapping in the teaching of Korean vocabulary as well as the application framework of mind mapping in vocabulary teaching and its effects on improving learners’ memory and learning habits.
