This study was undertaken to overview the components and systems of unit in integrated Korean textbooks, analyze their issues, and provide the ways to improve them. First, analysis into the unit components of the contemporary integrated Korean textbooks exhibited that ‘unit title’, ‘grammar’, ‘vocabulary’, ‘speech activity’ ‘listening activity’, ‘reading activity’, and ‘enlarging vocabulary’ are all included in the four textbooks. However, ‘aims of learning’, ‘pronunciation’, ‘function’, ‘culture’, ‘writing activity’, and ‘self assessment’ are not missing in some textbooks. Besides, analysis of the unit systems of the four integrated Korean textbooks showed some problems with the hierarchy, procedure, and integrity of the unit organization. In order to fix these problems, composition of the integrated Korean textbooks should include the following considerations. First, aims of learning should be clearly provided at the introductory part. Second, in organizing the understanding level of integrated Korean textbooks, careful selection of the contents should follow in order to include the vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, culture, and function. Third, in the application level, close integration is needed between language functions and the activities (or tasks) applying four functions of language - speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
