동북공정으로 촉발된 한국과 중국의 역사분쟁은 갈수록 심각해지고 있는 상황이다. 그러나 한국의 시민사회는 이러한 문제에 대해서 안일하게 대처하고 있다. 그 이유는 역사에 대한 막연한 보편적 세계시민주의 패러다임의 인식을 지니고 있어서 과거 역사문제를 단순한 민족주의적 세계관의 표현으로 폄하하기 때문이다. 그러나 그러한 한국시민사회의 역사인식의 한계는 냉혈한 중국의 동아시아 패권정치의 장기적 팽창 의도를 간과하고 있다. 이에 한국 시민사회는 역사인식에 대한 정치적 교정(political correctness)이 필요하다.
History dispute between Korean and China being caused by East-North Project is getting serious. However, the civil society of Korea(CSK) is handling so complacently this issue. The reason is that the CSK has underestimated the historical issues as the expression of a simple nationalistic world view and sustains the ambiguous sense of universal global citizenship paradigm at the same time but the historical view of the CSK has ignored the ambitious political intention of China to establish hegemony in East Asia. Therefore the CSK needs political correctness for the historical view.
