The purpose of this study is to suggest strategies so that team members can deal with low-performing team members without the intervention of a manager. In order to create these strategies, it is necessary to first understand how people react and makes sense of the low-effort individual’s behaviors first. A survey was conducted in a Healthcare Center of S Hospital in Korea, to identify whether the factors interaction frequency and relational closeness have any impact on how people make sense of the low-effort individual’s behaviors. Eighty employees of four teams (87.9%) filled out the survey. The correlation analysis results show that team efficacy was significantly related to each key variable: self-efficacy (r=.24 , p = .03 ) , cross-unit communication (r=.33, p < .01), within-unit communication (r=.56, p<.01) and workload sharing (r=.25, p =.03). When running multiple regression analyses to predict cross-unit communication, team efficacy, significantly predict cross-unit communication (b=.33,p=.003), within-unit communication (b=56 , p<.001) and workload sharing (b= .25 p=.03). Finding ways to review teams’ prior success as well as functional capabilities should help increase the team efficacy of the employees.
