Electrochemical studies of polymer electrolyte based on imidazolium and phosphonium ionic liquid

Lithium poly electrolytes-ionic liquid (IL), using poly (lithium 2-acrylamido- 2-methyl propanesulfonate; PAMPSLi) are prepared and their electrochemical properties are measured. The ionic conductivity of the PAMPSLi/l-ethyl-3 -methyl imidazolium tricyanomethanide(emImTCM; 1.28*10-3 Scm-1 ), 1-ethyl - 3-methyl imidazolium bis(trifluoro-methane sulfonyl amide(emlm TFSA;6.0*10-4 Scm-1) was exhibited high conductivity. The high conductivity and low viscosity of imidazolium IL system is due to the high flexibility of imidazolium cation and dissociation of lithium cation from the polymer chains. PAMPSLi/trihexyl(tetradecyl) phosphonium bis (trifluoromethane sulfonyl) amide (P66614 TFSA) exhibited low conductivity (2.22*10-5 Scm-1), high viscosity and thermally stable over 400°C
