In this theis, computer vision system are implimented for inputing the printed music score. It is attached to the computer for recognizing the printed music score atomatically, and is designed for performing results outing from computer speaker or MIDI(Musical Instrument Digital Interface). The printed music score image is inputed automatically using high-resolution scanner. Fairly clear image was obtained without preprocessing just like that of noise erase. The processing of the recognition on the music score image implies as follows (1) The deduction of the staff resion. (2) The deduction of the staff place. (3) The elimination of the staff. (4) The deduction of measure place. (5) The elimination of measure. (6) The recognition of the individual symbol(notes, numerals, characters) (7) The performance. A recognition rate reached by 96% for the input data which was selected in printed music score of the elementary school in real time.
