Hormonal effects on the storage protein biosynthesis in Hyphantria cunea Drury was analyzed from haemolymph and fat body. Synthetic activity of storage proteins occured in fat body of late last instar larvae. During the synthesis of storage protein, juvenile hormone Ⅲ gives inhibiting effect above 10⁻⁶ M while 20-hydroxyecdysone exhibits drastic inhibiting effect above 10⁻⁸ M. The ultrastructure of the fat body each treated with 10⁻³ M juvenile hormone Ⅲ and 20-HE showed the similar inhibiting effect on the synthesis and uptake.
