The high-spin states in ¹¹⁷Xe nucleus have been investigated by means of γ-ray spectroscopic techniques using the ⁹²Mo(²⁸Si, 2pn) reaction. The ²⁸Si beam of 110 MeV was provided by the 12 UD tandem accelerator at the University of Tsukuba. The γ-γ coincidences were performed to establish level schemes. Strong chain of cascades, 401-582-715-822-905-926 keV was observed in coincidence with 205 keV γ-ray. From systematics of Xe isotopes and transition strength, this is most probably the favored signature member of the h11/2 structure i.e., negative parity band of ᅀJ=2 with Jπ=11/2⁻ band head. In addition, a new level with ᅀJ=2 band structure was observed. This new band is conjectured due to the g7/2 neutron shell alignment as the familiar structure was seen in ¹¹⁹Xe. A band crossing in this band has been found at hω=0.32 MeV, which is explained by the cranked shell model(CSM) due to the two neutron quasi-particle alignments.
