The effect of bulking agents such as saw dust and rice hull, on the fermentative feed production from food wastes was investigated by seeding of mixed inoculum YM(Young-Jin Envirom ental co.) and thermotolerant yeast KL. marxianus. The addition of 10% saw dust in food waste increased microbial count significantly. Moreover, KL. marxianus did not only increased viable yeast count, but also accelerated total cell growth, which contributed to the enhancement of nutritive value and the extension of preservation properties of food waste.
