주사슬에 메소게닉 단위와 유연격자의 교대서열을 가지는 방향족 액정 폴리에스테르의 모형화합물

Model Compounds for Aromatic Liquid Crystalline Polyesters having Alternating Sequences of Mesogenic Units and Flexible Spacers in the Main Chain

The synthesis of a,ω-bis(4-p-phenylphenoxycarbonyl)phenoxyalkanes were described. A series of main-chain thermotropic polyesters which have an alternating sequence of mesogenic units and polymethylene spacers as well as their model compounds whth mesogenic units and spacers were investigated. Their liquid crystalline behavior, especially their thermal transition properties and nature of mesophases were compared with each other. The mesomorphic properties of the compounds were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and by polarizing microscopy.
