We synthesized compounds of the following general formula. The liquid crystal dimer is composed of molecules containing two conventional mesogenic groups linked via a flexible spacer. The mesomorphic properties and thermodynamic analysis of the compounds were investigated by the differential scanning calorimetry and on the hot-stage of microscope.
