RF PLL용 가변-정수 주파수 분할기

V ariable-N Frequency Divider for RF PLL

MBOA와 같은 UWB 시스템에 적용하기 위한 RF PLL용 가변-정수 주팟 분할기를 0.18쎄 실리콘 CMOS 기술을 이용하여 구현하였다. 양호한 속도 및 잡음 특성을 얻기 위하여 수퍼 다이나믹 회로를 사용하 였으며, 가변-정수 분할비를 얻기 위하여 MOSFET 스위칭 소자를 사용하였다. 특히 다이나믹 회로의 협대역 특성을 극복하기 위하여 단위 분할기 회로의 부하저항을 변화시키는 방법을 선택하였다. 측정결과 제작된 회로는 0.4〜 5.0GHz의 매우 넓은 주파수 영역에서 고속으로 동작함을 관찰할 수 있었다.

This paper describes implementation of a variable-N frequency synthesizer for RF PLL with 0.1 細 silicon CMOS technology being used as an application of the UWB system like MBOA. To get good performance of speed and noise characteristics super dynamic circuits was used, and to get variable-N division ratio MOSFET switching devices were used. Especially to solve narrow bandwidth problem of the dynamic circuits load resistance value of unit divider block was varied. Evaluation results of the implemented chip shows very fast and wide band operation characteristics as 0.4〜4.6GHz frequency range.
