A Performance Analysis of an Adaptive Sector Cell System

W e transm itted the m o d ulated sig n al in m a n y p la c e s , and captu red the r e c e iv e d sig n a l from 8 x 4 a rray antenna o f b a se station w h e n w e m easu red the ch an n el. T h e a n a ly sis p ro ce ss o f this stu d y is as the fo llo w in g s : F ro m that m easu red ch an n el data, w e estim ated the distribution o f D O A (D ir e c tio n o f A r r iv a l) and tim e d e la y p rorile o f each data, and tm s resu lts are u sed to determ ine the m ain sig n al paths fro m the m o b iles u sin g the p ro p o se d n on u n iform p ro b a b ility d en sity fun ction o f the an gu lar distribution o f m o b iles. F in a lly w e sim u lated the call b lo c k in g rate o f the cellu lar sy ste m u sin g each m o b ile ’s sig n a ls w h ic h is p ro ce sse d b y p a ssin g throu gh the b e am patterns o f array antenna and a n a lo g b e am fo rm er. T h e resu lts are; the c a ll b lo c k in g rate o f a d ap tiv e c e ll sector sy ste m is less than that o f fix e d ce ll s y ste m . A s the a c tiv e u ser d en sity o f sp atial distribution in creases the c a ll b lo c k in g rate in crease in the fix e d c e ll sy ste m , bu t it w a s not ch a n g e d in the ad ap tive c e ll system .
