In this work, a distributed optical fiber sensor system was proposed and tested to measure the temperature distribution on the oil transformers. The proposed system is consist of optical fiber Bragg grating sensors with electronic circuit, which execute the signal processing to increase accuracy and reliability. It is shown that the system can successfully monitor the temperature distribution and the accuracy is better than conventional thermocouple system.
