Cu-Be alloys to have high electrical conductivity and hardness are used as the materials of spot-welding machine in the automobile industry but recently replaced by Cu-Ni-Si alloys due to the harm and high cost of Be. The physical properties of Cu-Ni-Si alloys with the variation of heat treatment and alloying elements such as Ni, Si, Cr, Zr and Al have been investigated in this study. The Cu-Ni-Si alloys to contain 2.4wt% Ni and 0.6wt% Si showed the best electrical conductivity and hardness.
