In order to understand the frosting characteristics of heat exchangers a series of experiments have been carried out. A plate fin with local cooling was installed in a mini channel to investigate the heat and mass transfer characteristics of humid air flow under frosting conditions. This paper presents the effects of the plate fin temperature on heat flux under frosting conditions. From the measured values of plate fin temperatures, the thickness and mass of frost, the local heat fluxes (sensible and latent) and frost thickness distributions wereo btained and analyzed. Also, the correlation of frost thickness along the humid air flow has been represented by graphs. The correlation of frost surface temperature was also presented.
