W DM (Wavelength division m ultiplexing) lightwave com m unication system of multi channel requires an Optical filter to extract a signal from a channel. FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating) can be used to extract the specific signal of wavelength channel from the transmission line when many wavelengths are coupled in a multiwavelength transmission line. Also, it has a wide range of application that both improve the quality and reduce the cost of optical networking. In this paper, thus, we propose the FBG filter design using coupled mode theory based on perturbation theory. To analyze output characteristics of FBG and get optimum design data, we use computer simulation and verify through experimentation. The results obtained by experimentation show that the proposed FBG filter fits for DWDM(Dense WDM) system because of wide bandwidth by tunning narrow line width.
