T his paper introduces a fluorescent lam p m odel based on gas discharge phenom ena. The fluorescent lam p discharge has been successfully m odeled by em ploying the radial variation of particle density and considering d riving circuit effects on the characteristics of discharge process. T he electron energy distribution is assum ed to have a M axw ellian. T he electron m obility and the am bipolar diffusion coefficients are considered to vary w ith an electron energy rather than a sim ple uniform value. Energy states of m ercury atom in the discharge process are regarded as six levels rather than sim ple 4 or 5 levels. These discharge processes have been accurately solved by num erically em ploying m ixed the F D M and the 2nd R ung e- K utta method. W e applied this m odel to analyzing real high frequency circuit. S im ulation and experim ental results were presented to verify the feasibility of the m odeling. Sim ulation and experim ental results were presented to verify the feasibility of the m odeling.
