On the Ghost Discourses in Yi Dynasty according to the Thought of Seo Kyeong Deok

Man fears about the death. But there are many of stories on ghost. The reason why however m an fears about the death but there are many of stories on ghost is based on the character of the death. Ghost is the being after human death. That arouse fear in man’s mind. But the death is necessary. And this is the reason why we search after it. It is very difficult to prove the existence of ghost. But it is also difficult to prove the non existence of ghost. We prove the existence of the ghost only in the discourse that the ghost is so and so. There are m any of concepts on the ghost. Each m an gets each discourse about the ghost and every thoughts develops there characteristic discourses about the death. In the middle of Yi Dynasty the neo-Confucian thoughts of Song Dynasty is popular to the Yi Dynasty. The discourses on the ghost were changed from the Korean traditional beliefs to the neo-Confucian beliefs. Seo Kyeong Deok is the Confucian in the Middle of Yi Dynasty. He observed the nature by him self and thought throughly by him self so he succeeded in the establishing his ow n philosophical thoughts. He also reached a conclusion on the being of the ghost and the problems about the death. He thought that the universe was the Ki itself. The world and the things were formed from the result of the movement of Ki. The death was the result of the scattering movement of Ki, and the life was that of the form ing movement of Ki. A s the scattering phase took time so the ghost could exist in that state of the phase with working activities.
