This study, based on Bruner’s theory, tries to verify whether storytelling narrative is used effectively for the purpose of knowledge acquisition. After defining the concept of storytelling, this paper compared the distinctiveness between the process of knowledge acquisition through storytelling narrative and the acquisition process of fragmentary and objective knowledge. This study analysed the concrete/objective knowledge of humanities, social science and natural science w ith the storytelling material, which was also another form of knowledge. Finally, the concept of classification and its importance in storytelling narrative was emphasized. The ultimate purpose of this study was to analyze the function of storytelling narrative in the process of knowledge acquisition. This study examined and analyzed the effectiveness of storytelling narrative method in the acquisition of objective scientific knowledge. The storytelling narrative was an effective way for humans to remember and to store an objective scientific fact in a cognitive area. Also, due to its open-end characteristics, the narrative created invaluable effects. Furthermore, it facilitated the cognitive memory when a piece of knowledge is too complicated to be stored as an episodic memory.
