This study aims to understand the behaviors and psychological traits of the mothers. Compared with the mothers of infants with normal behavior, the results indicate that the mothers of infants with maladjusted behavior tend to rear their children in a more negative way such as being rejecting/controlling, over-protective or neglectful. These mothers also display extroversion, low self-esteem psychologically, and a high degree of depression and anxiety. This research also unfolded the following results. The infants’ withdrawal behavior increased as their mothers are overly protective and depressive. The infants’ depression/anxiety behavior increased as their mothers are also depressed, less out-going, and have lower self-esteem. The infants attention deficient behavior increased as their mothers have low self-esteem, are highly depressed or anxious, and use a more rejecting/controlling and neglectful methods in child-rearing. The infants’ bad behavior increased as their mothers show more rejecting/controlling behavior in child-rearing, and have higher degree of depression and anxiety. The infants aggressive behavior increased as their mothers show more rejecting/controlling behavior in child-rearing, and have a higher degree of depression.
