The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of learning coaching program on self-directed learning and to suggest a direction of learning coaching program s development for the improvement of self-directed learning ability. To suffice the purposes of study, a review of the concepts and the previous research on self-directed learning, self-regulated learning, learning coaching, self-regulated learning strategy was made. Also, the influence of self-directed learning was examined The results of this study were as follows. First, achievement of learning can be enhanced by self-regulated learning strategy training program Namely, self-regulated learning can also be learned through repetitive practice and training. This provides the opportunity of changes on learning accomplishment through effective learning strategy training for someone who cannot effectively facilitate self-regulated learning strategy. Second, learning coaching program helped students establish his/her self-identity and self-esteem For sociable relationship in adolescence, the program result suggests the strategy for advancement of learning management ability and learning ability. Therefore, it is implied that the purpose of this program is to improve self-study ability. Moreover, the result suggests the basic direction of development of talented students. In order to realize this direction, a new learning paradigm needs to be devised and constant research must follow. Thus, a support system through steady coaching and a program based on the study system for efficient teaching method need to be developed Since the application of the program differs from one another, subsequent research is expected
