임의의 모양 Wavelet 영상 부호화 기법

Wavelet image coding techniques for arbitrary shape

Recently, there has been much interest in wavelet transform due to its advantages, such as little blocking effect and high compression efficiency. However, there has been much difficulty in transforming arbitrary shape images because of boundary effects. To alleviate the boundary effects, the region-based wavelet transform(RWT) and shapeadaptive discrete wavelet transform(SADWT) have been recently reported. In this paper, these techniques are incorporated and its performances are compared in PSNR objective criteria. In addition, as coding techniques for the wavelet transform co de r, the bit allocation subbanding coding(BASC) and zerotree coding(ZTC) techniques are compared.
