Recycling of Copper Ion from M etal Plating W astewater by Reverse Osmosis Membrane

The objective of this investigation is to establish the rejection behavior of copper ion from electroplating wastewater using CTA (Cellulose Triacetate) spiral 一 wound membrane. Using the RO equipment, rinsing wastewater can rejecte metal ion and then could be reused for rinsing, while copper ion is concentrated and recovered to the plating bath. The effects of exprimental parameters such as pH, concentration, applied pressure for copper and cyanide were examined. The rejection efficiency of copper ion was more than 98% and the rejection efficiency of cyanide ion was 45 -95 %. The effect of cyanide on the copper removal was investigated.
