취업한 자폐 범주성 장애인의 직장생활 경험 및 지원 요구 고찰

A Qualitative Inquiry on the Job Experiences of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Support Needs for Employment.

본 연구는 취업한 자폐 범주성 장애인의 직장생활 경험과 인식을 살펴보고 이를 바탕으로 자폐 범주성 장애인의 고용 지원 요구를 분석하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 이를 위해서 질적연구 방법을 활용하여 모두 다른 환경에서 근무하는 자폐 범주성 장애를 지닌 성인 6명을 심층면담하였다. 연구참여자들을 면 담한 자료는 질적연구의 지속적 비교분석법에 의해서 분석되었으며, 그 결과 도출된 주제 영역은 총 4가지이다: (1) 현재 직장 취업 전 고용 관련 사전 경험, (2) 직장에서의 근로 현황, (3) 직장 생활의 긍정 적 영향 및 어려움, (4) 자폐 범주성 장애인을 위한 고용 지원 요소. 논문에서는 4가지 주제의 9가지 하 위주제에 따라 분석한 내용을 제시하였고, 이 결과는 자폐 범주성 장애인은 직업생활을 시작하고 유지 할 수 있는 능력과 가능성을 가지고 있으며, 고용 확대를 위해 자폐 범주성 장애 특성에 적합한 고용 지원이 요구된다는 점을 보여주었다. 논의에서는 자폐 범주성 장애인의 고용 지원에 대한 제언으로 (1) 자폐 범주성 장애인의 직업 역량 강화 및 장애 특성을 고려한 지원, (2) 고용 지원 체계 마련, (3) 직무 개발 및 현장 중심의 직업 교육, (4) 자폐 범주성 장애인의 고용 가능성에 대한 일반인의 인식 개선을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the job experiences and perception of individuals with autism spectrum disorders(ASD) and their support needs for employment. For this purpose, 6 individuals with ASD who are working on the different sites were interviewed. From the qualitative analysis, four themes emerged as follows: (1) the experiences which were about the previous job, (2) participants current state of their employment, (3) positive effects and difficulties related to employment, (4) employment supports for individuals with ASD. Also, nine sub-themes were emerged. Results indicated that individuals with ASD have abilities to get a job and retain it, and that it needs employment supports focusing on characteristics of ASD to enhance employment outcomes. Based on findings, further implications were discussed in order to provide factors regarding employment supports for individuals with ASD: (1) strengthening vocational competences and implementing employment supports, which respond to unique characteristics of ASD, (2) providing supports through vocational rehabilitation system, (3) implementing career development and work -site training, (4) improving public perceptions on employment of individuals with ASD.
