자폐성장애아동을 위한 사회적 상황이야기 중재를 활용한 국외 실험연구 분석

Analysis of the Foreign Experimental Studies Using Social Stories Intervention for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

본 연구는 사회적 상황이야기를 활용한 국외 실험연구를 조사 분석하여 연구의 중재 관련 특성과 중재의 효과성을 살펴봄으로써 사회적 상황이야기 중재프로그램 개발 및 적용에 기초적인 자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 2001년부터 2013년까지 발표된 사회적 상황이야기 중재와 관련된 국외 실험연구 논문을 검색하고 선정기준에 따라 최종 21편을 선정하여 분석하였다. 분석대상 논문들은 연구대상자의 일반적인 특성, 중재 특성, 사회적 상황이야기 특성, 중재의 효과성에 따라 비교 분석되었고 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상자의 일반적인 특성을 살펴보면, 사회적 상황이야기 중재는 일반 초등학교의 통합된 교육환경에 배치되어 있는 6-9세의 남학생에게 가장 많이 실시되고 있었고 지능지수 70이상의 인지적 수준을 가진 아동이 많았다. 둘째, 중재와 관련된 특성을 보면 세 명을 대상으로 하는 대상자간 중다 기초선 연구 방법을 설계하여 사회적 상호작용 및 사회적 의사소통과 관련된 목표행동을 향상시키기 위한 실험연구가 가장 많았다. 사회적 상황이야기 단독 중재와 복합중재를 적용한 논문의 수가 비슷하였고, 실험의 유지단계와 중재충실도 및 사회적 타당도에 대한 정보를 제공한 연구가 가장 많았다. 셋째, 비중복비율 기법으로 알아본 사회적 상황이야기의 중재 효과면에서 효과의 크기가 50~69%인 연구가 가장 많았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 자폐성 장애아동의 사회적 상호작용 증진을 위한 교육적 중재에 있어서 후속연구와 교육현장의 적용을 위한 제언을 하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the foreign experimental studies using social stories intervention for children with autism spectrum disorders. By a systematically scanning for journal articles 21 foreign experimental studies using social stories intervention for children with autism spectrum disorders published from 2001 to 2013 were selected for the final analyses. The articles were analyzed according to the variables such as characteristics of participants, research designs, the presentation mode of social stories, and the effectiveness of interventions. The results of the study were as follows: (a) The most frequently selected subjects were 6- to 9-year-old boys in inclusive elementary schools. Intelligent Quotients of most subjects were higher than 70; (b) Multiple baseline research design across subjects were the most frequently used. The dependent variables of most studies were social interaction skills and social communication skills; and (c) The percentage of nonoverlapping data points of most studies range from 50 to 69. The implications of the study and the suggestions for future studies were discussed.
